Inkling
Inkling is an innovative word game in which creativity trumps vocabulary. Splashes of dark ink on a blank page, the characters are illegible—or are they? The line that seemed like a scribble… Could it perhaps be the letter N, or is it a Z on its side? And that circle, is it an O or a Q, or maybe part of a B? You can’t know for sure, but you might have an inkling.
Each turn, you will play your letter cards in front of you, hoping the players next to you can glean the words you’re trying to convey—but without the perfect letters, you will need to get creative! How you go about that is up to you: Rotate your cards, play them upsidedown or on their side, or have them overlap one another—whatever it takes to get your meaning across.
A Billion Suns
A Billion Suns is a tabletop miniatures game of intense starship combat between fleets of powerful cruisers, sleek destroyers, and agile fighters. It puts you in command of fleets of powerful starships, from squadrons of agile, but fragile, fighters, to hulking and powerful capital ships. Choose your vessels from preexisting classes and then customize them to create your own sub-classes, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and armament, from accurate torpedoes to devastating macro-cannon. Using simple dice-pool mechanics, you must carefully manage your resources and seize the opportunities that come your way in order to lead your fleet to victory and assert your dominance over the stars.
A Billion Suns was created by the designer of the multi-award-winning Gaslands, who is incredibly active within the wargames community. It’s supported by a wide range of miniature manufacturers, including Brigade Models, Antenociti’s, Warcradle, Hawk Wargames, etc.—far too many to list! There is no overly dominant game for this genre on the market, and many of the existing sets are rather old. While this means there is competition rules-wise, there’s also a large fanbase looking to take their fleets into new battles!
